📖 Verse-by-Verse Explanation
1–2: The Rivalry for More
ٱلْهَٰٓـِٔكَ ٱلْتَّكَاثُرُ
حَتَّىٰ زُرْتُمُ ٱلْمَقَٰبِرَ
“The rivalry for worldly increase diverts you
Until you visit the graves.”
🛑 People become so obsessed with amassing wealth and status that they forget they will all face death.
3–5: The Reality Check
كَلَّا سَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ
ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ
كَلَّا لَوْ تَعْلَمُونَ عِلْمَ ٱلْيَقِينِ
“No! You will come to know.
Then, no! You will come to know.
No! If you only knew with knowledge of certainty.”
⚠️ A warning: the reality of the Hereafter and consequences will become clear — whether or not you are prepared.
6–8: The Final Reality
لَتَرَوُنَّ ٱلْجَحِيمَ
ثُمَّ لَتَرَوُنَّهَا عَيۡنَ ٱلْيَقِينِ
ثُمَّ لَتُسۡـَٔلُنَّ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَنِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ
“You will surely see the Hellfire.
Then you will surely see it with the eye of certainty.
Then you will surely be asked that Day about pleasure.”
